Digemid recolecta más de dos toneladas de medicamentos vencidos en todo el país
Con la finalidad de evitar el consumo de medicinas vencidas que pongan en riesgo la salud de las personas, en lo que va del año 2021 , la Dirección General de Medicamentos, Insumos y Drogas (Digemid) del Ministerio de Salud (Minsa) recolectó más de dos toneladas de medicamentos caducados y en mal estado a través de casi un centenar de puntos de acopio instalados en todo el país.
“Se han instalado 65 contenedores en diversos puntos de acopio permanentes, ubicados en establecimientos de salud de la capital, en los que se ha logrado reunir dos toneladas de medicamentos vencidos. A ello se suman los productos acopiados en 32 puntos instalados en el interior del país”, informó la directora de Inspección y Certificación de la Digemid, Marisa Papen.
Como parte de la “Campaña Nacional de Recolección de medicamentos vencidos y no utilizables en el hogar” la Digemid realizó en el mes de Diciembre una feria informativa en la plaza San José, del distrito Jesús María, donde las personas tuvieron la oportunidad de entregar sus medicinas vencidas.
“El objetivo de estas acciones es evitar que los medicamentos vencidos sean utilizados por las personas o que sean desechados junto con la basura, porque cuando esto sucede, los recicladores se encargan de seleccionarlos para luego venderlos a sujetos inescrupulosos que se dedican al comercio ilegal sin tomar en cuenta que ello pone en riesgo la salud de la población”, detalló la funcionaria.
En la plaza San José se instalaron contenedores para recibir medicamentos vencidos, deteriorados, parcialmente utilizados o que ya no se necesitan, así como envases, cosméticos en desuso y productos de higiene personal caducados.
La feria contó con la participación de las personas que transitaban por la zona, quienes pudieron entregar sus medicamentos vencidos e interactuar en las actividades lúdicas y concursos que realizó la Digemid.
